New video series: Occupational safety in underground cabling

Work to replace overhead lines with underground cabling is in progress. The Centre for Occupational Safety has published a video series to support occupational safety at underground cabling sites.

The videos cover occupational safety in general as well as safety equipment in underground cabling, the special characteristics of a joint construction site and safety in electrical work. They are suited for everyone working at underground cabling sites and educational institutions that train professionals in the sector.

The videos are made by the Centre for Occupational Safety’s Branch Committee for the Electrical Industries.

“Underground cabling is carried out at an accelerating rate. With the occupational safety videos, we want to promote the spread of good practices and enhance occupational safety awareness concerning this work at a common workplace,” says Tuomas Nissinen, Service Specialist at the Centre for Occupational Safety, summing up the thoughts of the Occupational Safety Committee.

Videos are available in English, Finnish and Swedish.
